Current Paintings

Betsy Bauer’s recent work, "Vista Luminosa" and "Flora Luminosa" are comprised of small intimate landscapes of glowing light and horizons. Botanicals and music also reappear in these small paintings on panel. These pieces are mounted in shadow boxes with surprises of jewel colors inside.

Betsy Bauer's paintings are oil and mixed media on panels set into hand painted
craquelure frames. Landscapes, floral and botanical forms are juxtaposed with
calligraphy and musical scores.

Betsy Bauer's monoprints are original works on paper. This spontaneous process
allows her to achieve a looser brush stroke and to experiment more with color.

Recent Collages

Betsy Bauer's latest body of work is a new and fresh combination of texture,
doodles, scribbles and fragments of jewel-like colored painting with a strong
element of design.

The "TERRA MUSICA" series was completed after the arrival of her second
daughter. The "MOMENTUM" series was created during the two years she spent
living in Europe. These paintings incorporate ancient papers, letters and
ephemera from Italy, France and England.
